Our Story

Qatar Science and Technology Preparatory and Secondary School for Boys – Al Sakhama

A Legacy of Excellence, A Future of Innovation

The journey of Qatar Science and Technology Schools (QSTSS) began in 2018, when the Ministry of Education and Higher Education established the first specialized STEM school for boys in Qatar. This pioneering initiative aimed to transform education by integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), fostering creativity, critical thinking, scientific research, and innovation while preparing students to become future leaders in a knowledge-based economy.

Building on the success of this educational model and its growing recognition for academic excellence, the Ministry expanded the QSTSS network in 2026, establishing Qatar Science and Technology Preparatory and Secondary School for Boys – Al Sakhama. The school officially welcomed its first cohort of students in the 2026–2027 academic year, marking a new chapter in Qatar's commitment to providing high-quality, future-focused education.

As part of the QSTSS educational network, Al Sakhama embraces an innovative, student-centered learning approach that combines a rigorous academic curriculum with hands-on experimentation, project-based learning, scientific inquiry, and emerging technologies. The school emphasizes interdisciplinary STEM education, digital literacy, artificial intelligence, robotics, and research and innovation, empowering students to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges.

Beyond academic achievement, the school is committed to developing well-rounded individuals who demonstrate leadership, responsibility, collaboration, and a strong sense of national identity. Through meaningful learning experiences and community partnerships, students are encouraged to explore their potential, pursue their passions, and contribute positively to society.

A Message from Our Principal

On behalf of our students, teachers and administrators, I would like to welcome you to Qatar Science & Technology Secondary School for Boys (QSTSS). As the landscape of both education and the world is changing rapidly, so are the demands that our students will face in preparing for college and life beyond. QSTSS is keeping pace with this change with our expanding state-of-the-art campus, evolving technology and provision of differentiated instruction that both supports and challenges each student based on their individual needs. Our well-trained and passionate educators have designed programs that teach through the processes of inquiry, discussion, decision-making, and reflection that will help the students to develop the 21st-century skills that enhance their competitive abilities locally and globally.
